About Us

Our small painting business was started in 2011 when Avni Meto (The owner) decided that it was time to strike out on his own. With over twenty five years of experience as a painter behind him, he knew that he had the expertise to help people with their painting projects across Ottawa.

Business soon started to grow through the generous referrals from his happy customers. Encouraged by his customers’ reactions to his work, Avni started to explore ways in which he could grow while making sure that the quality of the work always remained at the highest level.

Our Philosophy

There are two contributing elements to a successful painting project: quality of work and quality of experience. We are not happy unless we excel at both.

Quality of Work

When it comes to painting your home or business, the priority has to be the quality of work. We believe that there are two aspects to quality assessment: immediate (first impression) and long-term (durability).

During the initial walk-through, we want to see people thrilled by the “invisible” repairs, the richness and consistency of the colour and the sharpness of the cut lines (clean edges). It does not end there though.

We also want to make sure that our customers continue to enjoy our work for many years to come. We do that by taking the necessary time and a more thorough approach with the preparatory work (drywall repair, surface preparation, use of primer, etc.). We know that the only way for us to grow our business is if our customers call us back when they are ready for "a change of color ", not when they need "a fix"!

Having an owner that works on every project personally makes acting responsibly and taking responsibility very easy.   • The work space is left spotless at the end of each day
  • Your property is treated with respect and is repaired or replaced if an accident should ever occur
  • All furniture is replaced to its rightful place once work is completed
  • Noise is kept to an absolute minimum

Beyond that, we realize that professionalism extends beyond the work we do and the space in which we do it. We strive to minimize our intrusion by making sure that each and every interaction with us is a pleasant one – after all, we are a service industry first and foremost!

Meet the Owner

Avni Meto has been a professional painter since 1984 – that’s well over twenty five years! You simply can’t stay in a profession for that length of time if you don’t enjoy it. When speaking to Avni, that enthusiasm becomes evident almost instantly.

His passion was ignited as soon as the instructors at the School of Construction that he was attending recognized his abilities, and helped him focus his energies on developing his painting skill sets. The better he got, the more he wanted to immerse himself in the trade. As he says himself, “I love it, it comes naturally”.

In his personal life, as most fathers, Avni enjoys spending time with his family. He cheers on his son at hockey and soccer games and watches his daughter play basketball. It was this that motivated him a few years ago to take the step of creating his own business. It gives him the flexibility to work hard while at the same time it allows him to spend quality time with his family.

With the support of his wife Rezarta, Avni created Alber Painting – a blending of his two children’s names: Alban and Erada.

Free Estimate Accuracy Guarantee

When we provide you with our “estimate” for the work to be done, we are not pulling numbers out of thin air. In fact, we feel so strongly about the accuracy of our estimates that we guarantee that the quoted price will be the price charged.

Two exceptions:

  • If a client asks the scope of the project to be modified (it stands to reason that if we are asked to do more or less work, the cost of the project will go up or down accordingly)
  • If there are unforeseeable structural issues that do not allow us to complete the project as planned(e.g. hidden rot, structural issues with drywall, etc)

Clean Workplace Policy

We feel very strongly that just because you decide to freshen up your home or business, it doesn’t mean that it should feel like you are going through a full renovation. We strive to minimize our footprint by:

  • Using dropsheets to cover floors and other surfaces
  • Cleaning up the space that is being worked on at the end of each day
  • Storing all of our materials in one room or area that is agreed upon prior to the start of the project
  • Cleaning all of the brushes, rollers and tools off-site
  • Cleaning and vacuuming all floors, surfaces and carpets after the project is complete
  • Replacing the furniture to its original position
